Trait Categories
I. Sword Type
The varying types of weapons that have been observed as Swordsworn manifestations. As the name suggests, swords are by far the most common soulforged weapon, but as Swordsworn become increasingly more common, more and more variations and possibilities have been observed.
II. Wholeness
As a Swordsworn's sword is half of their being, and appears to be the entirety of their soul, it is generally advised as a top priority to ensure that the sword remains in good condition... or else risk a terrible fate.
... Sometimes bad things happen no matter how much you try to prevent them, though, huh?
III. Constitution
The Whitelily Institute recommends undergoing testing to determine a sword's constitution, in order to assess its fragility -- the likelihood that it will grow damaged or even shatter due to repeated stress and time.
Whitelily calculates this factor on a scale of one to ten, inspired by the Moh's scale: the most fragile sword will be scored with 1, and a seemingly unbreakable sword will receive a 10.
IV. Facial Features
While most Swordsworn retain their human features post-ritual, many cases have been documented wherein the infusion of ley into their bodies has awakened dormant and recessive genetic traits -- some changes occurring faster than others.
Migraines and pain can be a common side effect of a recent ritual, but if these conditions persist for longer than three weeks, it is advised to see a doctor to determine whether this is a sign that your body is continuing to change and grow.
V. Rune Style
The strange, often-glowing markings that appear on a Swordsworn post-ritual are colloquially referred to as 'runes', given that they commonly resemble different alphabetical symbols. Rune manifestations seem to be unique per individual, said to be an 'exit wound' from where the soul was torn from the physical body.
VI. Luminosity
While most Swordsworn have permanently glowing runes, there are a sizable majority of individuals observed as having no glow at all, sometimes mistaken for tattoos.
VII. Rune Colors
The color of a Swordsworn's runes is said to be the color of their soul. Though, given the fact that some runes may be multicolored... maybe it just means that some souls are more colorful than others..?
VIII. Arcana
The weapon-shaped mark upon a Swordsworn's spine is referred to as the 'arcana', inspired by the tarot term. Whether or not the blade is pointing up or down may reveal important facets of a person's character... or perhaps it just looked more visually appealing to be positioned that way.
Sword Modifier
A sizable chunk of the Swordsworn population has manifested one of these strange additional features, referred to as a 'modifier' until the appearance of a more befitting term.
The modifiers within this category are tied to the manifestation of the sword, and its associated effects.
Unless otherwise shown, a Swordsworn can seemingly only possess one trait from this category.
Sworn Modifier
A sizable chunk of the Swordsworn population has manifested one of these strange additional features, referred to as a 'modifier' until the appearance of a more befitting term.
The modifiers within this category are tied to the sworn, the person themselves.
Unless otherwise shown, a Swordsworn can seemingly only possess one trait from this category.
All-Common Bonus
A Swordsworn with all "common" classified traits may manifest one of the traits within this category.
It has never been observed in an individual who has even one trait of "rare" or higher.
